For the summer visitors to Deer Valley, the Park City Arts Festival is generally held the first weekend of August. This festival showcases the work of over 200 artists. Normally there's an assortment of art on display and available to buy including painting, glass, wood work, fabric, and photos. If you're browsing or wanting to purchase something, there's a great selection to see. This event also includes fabulous food, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. Be ready to face a crowd. They close Main Street in Park City to traffic however shuttles are available to take you to the event.
If you are visiting in January, watch out for the Hollywood actors and actresses that decend upon this mountain town as the annual Sundance Film Festival begins. This ten day event attracts the movie stars, but it is also open to the general public. Film screenings are offered at affordable prices. If you'd like to see what's new in independent and international film making including short movies, documentaries, and feature-length films; this is a must-see event. A similar event is the Park City Film Music Festival which has been going for 4 years and is held in January as well.
Further music festivals include the Park City International Music Festival. This annual event will be held in July and is in its 23rd year. This event is designed for the connoisseur of classical music and highlights classical soloists from around the country. This is a chance to see a group of world-class musicians performing in an intimate, mountain setting. For guests who can't get enough of jazz music, Deer Valley Resort holds the annual Park City Jazz Festival in August. The beauty of the outside amphitheater combined with wonderful music makes for an unforgettable event.
