Baby Food Website Launches Recipes Ebook For Mini Connoisseurs

Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) September 3, 2007 -- Tempting Tiny Taste Buds is both the name and the focus of the newly launched ebook from http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com . The book - which shows parents how to safely introduce solids to their babies - recognizes that an interesting infant menu is crucial in encouraging healthy eating.

Traditionally, babies have been fed unseasoned, single ingredient purees for much of their first year - sometimes beginning as early as 3 months of age. However, current guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and leading worldwide health-care organizations suggest that solid foods should be introduced no earlier than 6 months of age.

This means that - by the time babies have their first taste of 'real' food - many are developmentally ready for a far wider range of flavors and textures than previously suggested.

"Many parents question the theory that baby food must be bland and unseasoned," says Christine Albury, editor of http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com "After all, these recommendations are only made in certain parts of the world - babies in many other cultures experience a much more interesting diet as they are weaned on to solid foods."

"We are receiving more and more e-mails from visitors telling us how much their babies enjoyed our 'sophisticated' baby food recipes," she adds. "Although we include guidelines for making basic pureed meals on our site, our most popular recipes by far are those that call for seasonings like garlic and fresh herbs, and use a range of interesting ingredients."

Visitors have also reported how developing their infants' palates with a variety of tastes and textures has led to their being far more receptive to each new food, prompting Christine to turn the content of her site into a printable book.

"I hope that more parents will discover just how enjoyable it is to cook for their babies and will not be afraid to experiment a little when it comes to the flavors and textures of their food. It certainly appears that providing babies with an interesting and varied diet from the outset is the key to preventing fussy feeding later on."

New foods should always be introduced to babies with caution, of course - and it is important to discuss any new feeding regime with a pediatrician.

But once babies have mastered the solid food 'basics', then Tempting Tiny Taste Buds will enable parents to create nutritious, tailor-made meals for their little ones - with the confidence of knowing exactly what they contain.
