Chandler, AZ (PRWeb) December 15, 2006 -- It may be better to give than receive, but clients who participate in the International Academy of Hair Design's holiday food drive will receive an added bonus for their generosity.

The cosmetology school, 3350 N. Arizona Ave, Suite 4 in Chandler is offering $1 off of client services through Dec. 23rd for patrons who donate non perishable food items to the school's holiday food drive. IAHD will transport the food items to the United Food Bank, which in turn, will distribute the non perishable food to needy families throughout Arizona.

"It is a sad fact that many families struggle to keep food on the table and we wanted to do something to help" said Vickie Nelson, director of the Chandler cosmetology school. "Rather than just involving the students and staff, we decided to get our clients involved this year as well. In the cosmetology field we strive to help people look and feel their best, but real beauty comes from within. Remembering to help those who are less fortunate is a way to do just that."

IAHD has been in the Valley for more than 30 years and opened the Chandler facility in 2005. The contemporary, 6,500 square foot school offers an upscale clinic where students perform services under the supervision of a licensed cosmetology instructor. The program offers the latest innovations in Cosmetology and Nail technology, classroom for theory and practical training, a clinic laboratory, a well-equipped student's lounge, as well as a library of texts, publications, curricula, audio-visual equipment and aids, and industry- related journals. The facility offers a program in Cosmetology that includes hair, skincare, make-up and nails, as well as an instructor course outline for those who want to teach.

IAHD is located on the northwest corner of Arizona Avenue and Chilton Drive in Chandler. Currently the school is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the school offers evening hours from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. IAHD is closed on Sunday and Monday.
