hi Stef,
xin nian kuai le!
yeah, it's been a great CNY... way too much food... : p
but hey, who's complaining? ; )
very nice site you have there, btw : )
I like how you still try to do some of the "traditional" CNY stuff...

Hello, Renee! Happy CNY! How come no updates from you lately? I miss your wonderful pics and descriptions. I took some pics of the food that I had during the CNY. I don't run a food blog, but it just happened that I had a lot of good food for the past few days. Hahaha~

hi Gin,
happy new year to you too! wow-wee!! you certainly had a yummilicious new year! oohhh... your aunt's ribs (I mean the ribs your aunt cooked) look so good! by any chance I may have the recipe for that? I would love to try it out.
thanks so much for the links.
maybe you should start a foodblog ; )
yes, I know I've been away for a while... busy eating, yakking, eating, chillin', eating, sleepin', eating, yakking... : D
but it's time to clear the backlog of photos...

hi Wena,
xin nian kuai le!
: D I know exactly how you feel! my tummy has gone quite quite round! : (
but it's okay... CNY only happens once a year. licence to eat like there's no tomorrow : p
haven't surfed for quite a while. wow! you certainly had some yummy food over CNY! loved those cute little animal shaped cookies!
do they have any fillings or are they flavored?
Posted by: Renee | January 28, 2026 01:29 AM
eat until no tomorrow? aduh. went back to work, everyone had big big stomachs!
think they are flavoured but not sure what was in them! too many choices and all that! think it had cheese inside but not a lot though.

Hi Renee!
Yup, my aunt's pork ribs not only look good but also taste good. Kekeke~ Erm... I think the secret is the preserved mixed veggie (from China) that she uses in her recipe. The taste of fresh tomato/tomato ketchup/vinegar can never beat the taste of the preserved mixed veggie when it comes to cooking the pork ribs. Will ask my aunt later. ^_^

Wena: LoL. round tums... sure signs of having had a good new year celebration ; )
Gin: now, I am completely intrigued and REALLY want to try out your aunt's ribs recipe! preserved mixed veggie? is this "tzar choy" or "czar cai"? or different?
I'm salivating already!
