The Tennessean

A big thank-you to Lisa Benavides for featuring shiokadelicious! in a wonderful article on food blogs in The Tennessean! We’re honored. And it’s really very nice to finally have the Western press notice (and recognize) that there are a lot of food blogs coming out of Asia. This new, more multi-cultural, multi-national and definitely more international perspective is a refreshing breath of fresh air! Kudos to Ms Benavides and The Tennessean!

Congratulations also to Amy, Michael, Barrett & Meg, Jackie, Clotilde and Heidi -- the other terrific food bloggers featured in the article.

And… a very warm welcome to all the new readers from Nashville and from around Middle Tennessee! I hope you will enjoy shiokadelicious! icon_smile.gif

I like what you said about having the "Western press notice (and recognize) that there are a lot of food blogs coming out of Asia" which will hopefully make them better appreciate our cultures.

Congratulations Renee!

hey mrsT,
now I'm blushing!
but thank you for the salutations : )

thanks Karen : )
yeah, anyone reading all the articles that have been written about food blogs so far would be forgiven for thinking that foodblogs only come out of the East & West coasts USA and France!
even though there are so many from other parts of Europe, South America, Asia and Australia/NZ!

Ok, now I really *am* going to have to find a copy of the paper; you're in it, too!

Many congrats, Renee.

Congratulations Renee. U are making us Singaporeans proud.

I was searching for some recipe when I first stumbled into a food blog by Ruth (my little cyberspot). It was an exciting and exhilarating experience as I started wandering more and more into the world of food blogs.

There are a few favourite sites that I will check as fervently as my emails so much so that it becomes routine. I'm now one of your official fans. Keep it up.

Regards

Hi Renee - Greetings from Illinois!

I found the article in the Tennessean by a link on a blog written by a guy who uses the same web hosting as I do. How's that for a convoluted route? ;) As much as I love to cook and read about cooking, I'm surprised that I haven't hunted down cooking blogs before. I have a nice list in my bookmarks now!

Hi Renee,

I've been reading your blog for quite some time now. I must say yours is the only Singaporean food blog I've stumbled upon so far. And what a delight it is to read!

I hope now that your picture is exposed in the media, you can post more in your blog? I'm kidding. :)

Renee, Just wanted to say I went to Saffron last night for dinner... which you wrote about more than a year ago but now that I'm living in Singapore I've finally been able to go to it. It is still offering up delicious food... totally worth it... thanks for the pointer!

hi renee

haven't been 'snooping' around your blog for some time now and you know what, each time i come by, you make the news. Syabas and congrats to your amazing blog. Even an Asian/Malaysian like me can learn a whole lot from your recipes. And yes, this region is somehow such a great region to be in, isn't it? I guess 'fusion' food was invented right here by our forefathers.

Congrats!:)

My computer seems to hang only at your foodblog..you mind archiving monthly?
